sausage is a browser and mobile game published by glorp llc. the browser sections below describe poki and its partner sites; the app versions section describes the ios and android apps, including google admob and in-app purchases. it is built to be played without an account and without giving us any personal information. the game keeps your progress and settings in your own browser, and nothing is sent to us. advertising and site analytics on poki are provided by poki under poki's own privacy policy.
nothing personal ever reaches us. the game saves the following in your browser's local storage (and indexeddb for a small image cache) so it remembers you between sessions:
this data never leaves your browser. we cannot see it, and it is not linked to you as a person. clearing your browser's site data for the game removes it.
we do not collect names, email addresses or contact details, location data, device or advertising identifiers, or gameplay analytics, crash reports and telemetry of our own. the optional thought-bubble voice uses your browser's built-in text-to-speech to speak short lines — it never listens, records, or sends audio anywhere.
none by us. no gameplay or personal data is sent to us, so we have nothing to share, sell, or disclose. advertising and measurement on the poki platform are handled by poki, not by us. we receive only aggregate, non-identifying statistics from poki about how the game performs, such as average play time.
the game itself is a static web application served over https. it loads no third-party scripts, fonts, or trackers of its own — its 3d engine (three.js), physics engine (cannon-es), fonts and every asset are bundled and served from the same place as the game. when you play on poki.com or a poki partner site, the surrounding page and the poki sdk make their own network requests for advertising and analytics.
poki. sausage is hosted and distributed by poki b.v. the poki platform and the poki sdk provide advertising (including the optional rewarded video used to skip a level), site analytics, and content-fit measurement. that processing is done by poki, not by us, and is governed by poki's privacy statement.
no other third parties. the game loads no other third-party scripts or trackers of its own.
sausage is family-friendly and suitable for all ages. because the game itself collects no personal information, we collect none from children. advertising and measurement on the poki platform are handled by poki in accordance with applicable children's privacy laws, including coppa (united states) and the gdpr (european union), as described in poki's privacy statement.
the game itself sets no cookies. it uses browser local storage and indexeddb only for the on-device data described above. poki's platform may set cookies as described in poki's privacy policy and cookie notice.
the game is a static web application served over https. it sends no data to us and has no server-side component of its own, so there is no personal data on our side to secure.
the browser sections above describe the game played on poki. the sausage apps for ios and android are the same game, with one difference: instead of poki, advertising in the apps is provided by google admob (google llc / google ireland limited). in the apps, we ask for no personal information, run no servers, analytics or tracking of our own, and your progress, settings and outfits are stored only on your device (in the app's own storage, removed when you uninstall the app).
what admob collects. to show ads, measure them and prevent fraud, the google mobile ads sdk inside the app collects and processes, under google's own policies:
this data goes to google, not to us. we receive only aggregate reports (for example how many ads were shown and the revenue they earned), never data about you as a person. how google uses information from apps that use its services. google's privacy policy.
your consent. if you are in the european economic area, the united kingdom or switzerland, the app shows google's consent form (the user messaging platform) the first time you open it, before any ad is requested, and you can accept or refuse personalized advertising. you can change your choice at any time from the pause menu: tap "more", then "privacy settings". where required by us state privacy laws, a similar choice is offered.
tracking on ios. on iphone and ipad the app asks, once, whether it may use your device's advertising identifier to show you more relevant ads (apple's app tracking transparency prompt). if you choose "ask app not to track", the idfa is not shared and you still see ads, which are less personalized. you can change this at any time in the ios settings app under privacy & security → tracking.
ads in the apps. the apps show a small banner ad along the bottom of the screen. watching a video ad is always your choice: the video that skips a level (and, where offered, unlocks an outfit) plays only when you tap "watch ad". if no ad is available, the skip is granted anyway.
remove ads (in-app purchase). the apps offer one optional purchase, "remove ads", which removes the banner (the "watch ad" skip stays available, because it is your choice). the purchase is made and processed entirely by apple (app store) or google (google play) under their own terms and privacy policies; we never see or receive your payment details, name or account. the app stores a note on your device that you own it, and asks the store whether you own it when the app starts, so that "restore purchase" and a reinstall bring it back. we receive only the store's sales reports (for example the number of purchases and their revenue by country).
your choices on android. you can reset or delete your advertising id in the android settings (settings → google → ads, or security & privacy → privacy → ads, depending on the device).
children. the apps are not directed at children under 13 and are not part of apple's kids category or google play's designed for families programme; ad content is limited to google's "parental guidance" rating or lower.
links. the pause menu's "more" menu opens this privacy policy in an in-app browser. the web version on poki contains no external links.
deleting your data. uninstalling the app removes everything the game stored on your device. data processed by google under its own policies can be managed through your google account and device settings as described above.
if the game ever changes in a way that affects your privacy — for example if we add online features — we will update this policy, change the last-updated date above, and, where the change is significant, note it in the game.
